What is ghee?

Ghee is clarified butter from which water, milk proteins (casein), and lactose have been removed by gently heating it. What remains is pure fat—rich in nutrients, stable at high temperatures, and remarkably flavorful.

In Ayurveda, ghee is considered a rasayana — an elixir of youth. It has been used for over 5,000 years as food, medicine, and a carrier of active plant compounds to deep tissues.
