Ayurvedic massage: a wellness practice, not a medical practice
The massages offered are strictly for wellness purposes. They are not sexual, medical, or therapeutic in nature.
If you experience symptoms or suspect a medical condition, consult a healthcare professional immediately. Ayurveda is a complementary approach—it is by no means a substitute for conventional medicine.
The Benefits of Ayurvedic Massage
Ayurvedic massage induces a state of deep calm in both the body and mind. Through slow, enveloping movements combined with carefully selected warm oils, it stimulates circulation, promotes the elimination of toxins, and relieves muscle and joint tension.
What fundamentally sets Ayurvedic massage apart is its personalized approach. Before each session, the practitioner assesses the person’s constitution (prakriti) and its current status (vrikriti) to adjust the techniques, pace, and oils accordingly. A treatment designed to balance Vata will be slow and warming; a Pitta treatment will be gentler and more refreshing; and a Kapha treatment will be more invigorating, to stimulate circulation and relieve the sensation of heaviness.
Beyond immediate relaxation, its effects last over time: improved sleep, increased vitality, and a calm mind. A holistic approach that promotes inner balance.
Contraindications for Ayurvedic Massages
Ayurvedic massage is a gentle practice; however, there are certain situations in which you should postpone or avoid a session.
Absolute contraindications Fever, infection, or acute inflammatory condition; contagious diseases; open wounds or skin lesions; phlebitis or thrombosis; cancer currently being treated; severe cardiovascular disorders.
Relative contraindications (Medical consultation recommended) Pregnancy, especially during the first trimester; uncontrolled high blood pressure; diabetes; autoimmune diseases; and intensive drug treatments.
Practical Precautions It is recommended that you not come on an empty stomach or immediately after a heavy meal. Your overall health is assessed at the beginning of the session during a confidential consultation, so that the treatment can be tailored to your needs or, if necessary, discouraged.
If you have any questions, consult your doctor before booking a session.
